I let out some coolant from the bottom release tap and refilled from top to bleed a little more. This is what its looking like. Tiny air bubbles,
Progress
If it makes you feel any better I’ll be replacing 2 or 3 wheel bearings, one cat, testing a rear diff ,installing a new double din radio etc over the next couple weeks . Over the last few weeks I stripped out both door windows and regulators (using Joe’s videos) realigned them both, serviced the runners and guides ,fixed my central locking, released a siezed up electric aerial mast, fitted a rear view camera, adjusted the clicks on the handbrake and fitted some baffles to the rather loud back boxes. Phew … but enjoyed every minute. Cars eh ? oh and replacing the rear diff output seals if they arrive on time.
In an ideal world when refilling you’d have both drain plugs removed. Then start slowly filling up until coolant came out of the lowest plug, put that plug back in,then keep topping up until it comes out of the 2nd plug, then put that plug back in ,then top up as you have been doing the rest of the way.
Is that all You do in Your spare time ?
LOL. You’d think so from that wouldn’t you ? I’ve always got some project on the go. Some people worry about about what they do when they eventually retire … I’ve got absolutely no worries about keeping my mind and body active so finger crossed i stay healthy
I flushed the system again and tried to bleed but still had no hot air from the vents. I then disconnected the heater in and out hoses, connected my garden hose to the output hose and extended the intake hose to a bucket and turned the water on. There was alot of junk in that heater matrix. Result… I now have heat
So it was a junk lock instead of an air lock
