Front Active Aero Tray Restoration

This ones a carbon tray with a quick One coat of black plastic coating.
Shows you roughly what we have coming out.
We have a rubber material which will be a cheaper oe option.
Just put a quick one coat on So doesn’t look the best but looks very similar next to an original.

Update: The bolts and u-clips I bought have rusted quite a bit, and I damaged the tray when trying to loosen one of the bolts because it was seized and spun the clip, cutting into the plastic. I had to use penetrating oil, then hold the clips steady with pliers while breaking the bolts loose to avoid any more damage to the plastic.

I think they were “black oxide” finish, which provides nearly zero corrosion resistance.

I’m now trying a different set of hardware from ebay: For GM Truck Body Bolts&U-nut Clips- M6-1.0 x 20mm- 10mm Hex- 20pcs (10ea)- #150

They are basically the same as the last set I used, but these claim to have a black zinc finish (actual corrosion resistance), and the bolts are 4mm longer, which shouldn’t be a problem.

Bolts: M6-1.0 x 20mm long. 10mm hex. 17mm washer. Black finish
Clips: M6-1.0 thread. 13.5mm center of hole to edge. Black finish

The item description and photos specifically describe them as corrosion resistant. I hope these do better than the last set.
