Hi. David here. I have a 1992 GTO and i took the rear window weather strips off to refurb them and some clips broke. Can anyone advise me on where to get some new clips please? I need the top and bottom clips. I’m in Wolverhampton, England. Thanks for any help in advance.
If you manage to find any then please write back here where as I am also looking for them… They used to be available from Mitsubishi dealers, but I cannot get any now from those I asked
Ok mate. Keep your eyes peeled on here.
How many of each do you need? I have loads of the bottom ones and maybe a handful of the top ones, new and used.
A full set of top and bottom if new please so they will not break. If used then not sure as the car is in having the interior reupholstered. Hopefully it will be ready for my birthday on Friday, so i can let you know how many used ones i need. Thank you so much for your help
I’ve just looked at a picture of my car and it looks like all the top clips are there but not sure if any are broken
These are still available from mitsubishi.
Ok thanks Joe. I’ll look into it
Then my Mitsubishi dealers here on the islands are cack!!! They said that they could not source them from Mitsubishi
Some dealers aren’t interested in the hassle of getting small parts from Japan with no profit margin in for them. You can still get the clips, probably, from amayama.com, which is where I got my supply quite a while ago during my restoration.
Inspect any clips you have remaining that they have their little teeth, they’re useless if broken off.
They are about £2 each, plus shipping. You need 6 for the top trim and 7 for the bottom. I have loads of the bottom ones and I think just half a dozen of the top ones. See how many you actually need and let me know.

Is that eBay seller on drugs?
I think he must be. I love my car, but I’m not crazy enough to spend £200 on 13 bits of plastic
Looks like you get them from Amayama
You can, but the shipping costs are utterly bonkers!!! A few pieces of plastic end up costing 70$ +import duty before getting released so it ends up around 130$ for those pieces… That is not a very fair price for 7 pieces of plastic weighing 3-5 gram
