Anyone knows was the theft alarm system an optional extra for these cars? I have two cars with no theft alarm, one which had Mitsubishi theft alarm parts fitted, and one with after market theft alarm. At the moment Im working with the car that had an after market alarm parts fitted, very poorly fit, I took all the componets and wires out and its still runs with no problem.

I dont believe they had anti theft alarms fitted from the factory, but I could be wrong
The alarms on the cars were not anti-theft. They were passive systems. They would simply blow the horn if you unlocked it from the inside with the alarm activated.
I have a '93 3000GT DOHC N/A, manual transmission that I have had since new. It didn’t come with the alarm installed or the key fobs to unlock the doors. I purchased a kit at the dealer of the Mitsubishi factory alarm system with the key fobs for unlocking the doors within a few months after purchasing the car. I installed it myself, it was very complicated and it took a couple days. The unit that mounts under the dash on the driver’s side has a fine tuning adjustment that you adjust by shaking the car to get it to alarm with the correct amount of moving the car. It came with a button/light that I mounted on the dash that is used to deactivate it when it goes off and the key fob unlocking doesn’t turn it off. For some reason when the battery gets weak and it’s time to replace the battery I have to deactivate the alarm with the button a few times before I replace the battery.
