Hello, I have the following problem with my 1992 Mitsubishi GTO SR. My airbag warning light isn’t illuminated at all, regardless of whether the ignition is on or the engine is running. After reading the fault memory with the MUT II tester, I got the following errors: 22, 41, and 42. 41 and 42 are probably due to my faulty battery. And 22 could be related to my clock spring? What I really don’t understand is why my airbag warning light isn’t working. I’ve already replaced the bulb in the instrument cluster, but that didn’t help. I’ve also checked all the fuses, and they’re fine. I would appreciate any help. Best regards from Germany

The SRS light should only come on for a few brief seconds when ignition is turned on. If it does not, then the system has failed and you have fault codes.

There is no way to really troubleshoot the clockspring, it is best to find a replacement from a reputable source that can verify the clockspring hasn’t been damaged (it is a ribbon cable wound up - if it is wound too far in either direction it can break, but also it can fail naturally.)

You will need to find the correct clockspring design for your car, so first you will need to disconnect the battery, leave a few minutes, remove the steering wheel and take pictures of the clock spring unit to see what type you need.

This is a clock spring, there are I think 2 maybe 3 types.
