Hey there, my names Peter and i have a 1991 gto TT AWD manual
I have rebuilt the engine and after a test drive found the Speedo not working well. It reads up to around 20mph then drops to 0mph above that speed.
I pulled the sensor, spun it with a drill and got readings above 50mph.
I pulled the nylon gear and it looks brand new, no lost teeth or stripping.
Last thought is capacitors but have no idea how they actually work or what to look for/do
Of note, the female connector is slightly chipped and won’t hold a metal spring clip anymore. I have taped it and zip tied it to prevent it wiggling loose.
