Has anyone found a product/concoction that will remove the OEM gray paint from the snake eye lenses without damaging the plastic? Something that you have actually used and know it works…

That is grey paint underneath the black rubber gasket on the back side. It is under the gasket and slightly up the side 1/8" or so. There is grey paint on the original ones on my car, and on the two sets that I have purchased in the past. Joe even talks about the grey paint in one of his YouTube videos, and the fact that some people paint or buy them in a different color when they purchase replicas…
