Hello all my name is: Oliver
I have a: 3000GT UK Spec
It has the following issue: My car is currently with a local garage who have completed the welding of the sills etc and now we are moving on to the subframe front and rear. I have had the suggestion that I buy subframes and arms get them blasted and powder coated so the garage can do a swap out. I am trying to find a exploded diagram of all the arms etc that I will need.
My questions are is there any differences between GTO and 3000GT in these areas I need to consider?
Does anyone have a list of parts that are needed to do this?
Once I have this info I will pop something in the wanted parts section as well as search Ebay.
“My car is a 1992 UK spec 3000GT”
I hope I have provided all the information. Anyone who has done this before I would love to have a chat.
Oli
NO HELP WILL BE GIVEN WITHOUT PROVIDING AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE RELATING TO YOUR ISSUE
There are some small differences but they are not deal breakers.
the 3000GT front wishbones have additional brackets welded on for the calliper air flow fins - these are not essential for the car so GTO wishbones will work.
the rear trailing arms have brake dust shields on them - these hold the handbrake mechanism and the dust shield is built to fit a rear brake disc - your car will have the larger 296 mm rear discs so if you use an earlier arm from before mid 92 you may need to swap brake dust shields around or just cut the lip off etc…
Remember some bits you can buy new from Mitsubishi and this can sometimes work out cheaper than stripping, bush/ ball joint replacement and powder coating. Sites like amayama are good for diagrams.
