Plug identification

Hello all my name is Lee, I have a 1998 GTO SR.

I was just cleaning under the car, ready to top up the lanoguard and noticed a cable from the exhaust going into the chassis underneath the car was loose. As I pulled it out the white plug is detached.

Its located midway down the car, under the prop shaft.

Does anyone know what the plug is and is it ok to be unplugged? Im guessing it has been unplugged for quite some time.

Ive tried to identify it but can’t seem to find out what it is (heat sensor/ O2 sensor?).

thanks, Lee

That looks like your lambda sensor. It is plugged in under the back of the center console. Many garages can’t be bothered to strip the console out to connect the sensor when they fit a new exhaust or sensor so they just poke it through the hole and hope you don’t notice.

Thanks for the reply Joe. Hope everything is good with you. Thanks.
