Paint system for 1992 3000GT VR4 Monza Red

Hi everyone,
I am trying to figure out if the 1992 3000GT VR4 uses a base/clear coat or a 2Pack paint system with no clear coat. Appreciate if anyone has pointer as I am trying fix some chips and probably respray one area.

It depends on the paint code.

I’m no paint expert but I do remember being told clear coat goes white when rubbed down with wet and dry and base coat remains body colour. I also believe if you t-cut a base coat the polishing cloth turns body colour whereas clear coat doesn’t.

Thanks Stealthee & Kenny GTO. I found a local automotive paint specialist store which will help me to match the existing color. They offer 2Pack (2 component) Urethane paint and of course the base/clear. I will polish a head light cover ahead of going to them to find out. My son is coming home over Christmas with the car thus we hope to get this done on the 23rd to do touch-ups over the holidays.
