Oil pump 1992 TT

Can anyone advise where to buy an oil pump like the one in Photo please?

Euro3S Performance offer what you need.

You could buy an aftermarket oil pump off ebay and swap the TT relief spring into it, that’s the only difference between it and the non-turbo unit.

Thanks for the info on oil pumps. The FAI unit does not have reg threaded take off point for a pressure sensor. May be it’s not required on later models. Mine is a 1992 TT.

You may have seen that I asked about crank bearings which someone suggested Xtune in Poland. I sourced from them.
The reason for the engine strip down was that a big end knock. When sump was removed this was confirmed so a strip down and crank removed.
I have had the car for 16 years with regular oil changes, only done 5000 miles as it’s a second car.
So what caused this? I have striped the oil pump as shown in the photo. Removing the pressure relief screw and spring did not allow the steel piston to move at all, I assume it should or there would be no need for a spring.
I assume that because this piston shown below the spring, two windows in the diecasting the engine was starved of oil?
I would appreciate some feed back comments in the hope it will help others. I will have to send photo in next post as it will not load.

I’m no engine builder expert, but the gears look like they are scored against the casing of the oil pump, perhaps there was too much lateral thrust in the crank and that’s caused some issues? For a complete oil pump, you might want to get from Euro3S performance?

Can anyone tell me what should be under the spring? I found nothing.
I have the pump stood upright and filled the cavity where the spring fits with meths. Nothing has leaked out through the bottom hole?
I can not see a hole from the spring side but there is one from the opposite side. I assume this is to let the oil flow?
I am unsure which way the oil should flow past the spring , I assume flow is against the spring, can anyone comment?

A plunger. Excess oil pressure pushes the plunger against the spring tension which bleeds off the excess oil/pressure to the sump. You can see there in that picture that if the plunger can move against the spring it would open up that channel to allow the oil to pass under the plunger and away from the oil pump channel. Some people have used washers to shim a weak spring to try to rectify a situation where the relief system isn’t performing/is performing weak.

The plunger is stuck it will not move.when I get my new pump I am going to section through this region so I can fully understand how it works . As stated I took out the spring and nothing else moved.
Will conclude when I get a new oil pump.
