O2 Sensor Going Bad?

Hi everyone, my name is Cristian.

I’ve got a 1991 3000GT SL

A few weeks ago my CEL came on while I was cruising on the highway but it turned off before I could get home to probe the code.

Yesterday the CEL came back on, I was home and probed it at that time and it read out O2 Sensor over and over again.

Today the CEL is back off.

What do you guys think, is this an intermittent false negative? Or a false positive being returned the majority of the time?

Also, I should probably replace it, AutoZone and Advance told me they didn’t have one for me that would be a direct fit for the harness. Any suggestions on where I can get one that IS a direct fit? If they exist (new) anymore?

Hi, 3SX.com still has them listed for sale. Not sure how long it would take to get it.

Rockauto.com has them available. The walker brand is a good sensor. Use their more expensive sensor. It will last longer.

Also, make sure you don’t have an exhaust leak before or directly after the sensor. It will greatly effect your fuel mileage.
