Noise only when AC is on

Hello all my name is:
I have a: (1995 mitsubishi 3000gt SL )
It has the following issue: (I just did the timing belt, it runs awesome sounds awesome. Turned on the AC and a rattle like metal tapping metal like crazy. Add a video of the noise, and when i rev the engine it gets even worse)
It won’t let me upload the video…grrrrr but just try and hear bolts in a tin pot and you shook it

NO HELP WILL BE GIVEN WITHOUT PROVIDING AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE RELATING TO YOUR ISSUE

It’ll be related to your AC clutch or bearing worn or out of line. I’d remove the AC belt and spin the AC by hand and have a listen. Check how the bearings run on the alternator and related pulleys. Check for correct tension on the AC belt. Maybe the AC clutch isn’t engaging properly. There are ,I think, 6 small screws on the sides of the pulley. Loosen these if you need to re-align the pulley. The pulleys use a shim so alignment is critical. Get alignment correct and check nothing is catching by turning the pulley by hand… then try putting the belt back on with the correct tension and see if the noise has gone. Hopefully the bearing on the compressor hasn’t failed but less likely to be the cause. We are talking adjustments of fractions of a 1mm if any are needed

Wow thank you for all of that information, I’ll do that today and see what I find. I was hoping I don’t have to replace the whole AC compressor unit because the AC actually works in the cabin. Thanks again. I’ll respond with what I find.

So yes, a few things I didn’t do correctly and i’m honest about, One got a smaller Harmonic Balancer and had to reduce the size of the belt, Two got a belt with 5 ribs for the AC belt line and not 6 and last but not least, the belt needs to be tighter to engage the AC Clutch, and that is no joke, this belt needs to be frackin tight, when Joe in his videos say 5 mm of play, (Mitsubishi 3000gt / GTO Timing Belt Change Part 3 (Reassembly) - Competition Winner Vadim - YouTube and time at 1hr 7 mins) he means it, make it tight people!! And always get new belts, old belts are stretched and worn, you can’t see it from the top, have to take them off and Bend them the opposite direction to see the cracks and worn grooves.
