Soooooooo, The car overheated and never recovered when tweeking, suspected h/gasket. Turns out the gaskets fine. Thinking back, was the air filter fitted ? 
Conclusion: Air filters are good
Some nasty looking scoring you’ve got there 
. Out of curiosity, how long was it running without an air filter? Hope you can get it back on the road soon!
Thanks. I hope to get it rebuilt soon. It was only about 2 months old, all balanced forged and lighted, big valve heads and DR650 turbos.
I was messing about with the boost, I think maybe 2-3 weeks without the filter.
I’m guessing that’s what’s caused the damage as I can’t see anything obviously wrong anywhere, unless something gets discovered on the rebuild.
Can’t believe I’ve been so foolish tbh
