NA GTO CV Joint Query

Hello all, just wondering if anyone knows whether the American specification FWD DOHC cars share front driveshafts with the Japanese NA AWD Cars?

Only asking as my non turbo GTO has a bad outer front drivers side CV joint, and it looks like I can only get new units from rockauto - who only sell bits for the American spec cars.

I’m under the impression that parts from turbo cars won’t fit on my car. If anyone else knows somewhere else I can get just the outer part from i’d be grateful to know - i’d rather not spend over £100 on a crusty looking used one taken off a breaker. Thanks.

The simple answer is no. My fwd is different to the awd. There are companies in the UK that will rebuild them for you for a good price but I can’t remember who did mine so I’m afraid it’s over to Google.

:sob: :sob::sob: Thanks Joe, These cars I swear, so many parts are different between the different trims, i’ll see if i can find a good used part first and go from there!

I can’t say for sure, but its possible if you search rockauto for Talon/Eclipse/Laser CV’s that they might work. The transmissions are very similar to the AWD NA GTO’s, as they use the W4A33 and w5m33 transmissions, with the main difference being the bell housing for the 4G63 vs the 6G72
