LED replacement headlight for Mk1 right hand drive

Morning.
I apologize if this has been answered before; I did do a search and could not find any active topics.
Has anybody identified a LED replacement headlight for a right hand drive mk1?
There appear to be lots on the various sites; however, they don’t seem to confirm suitability for our cars and application e.g. dimensions and correct dip.
Thanks for any info you might have.
cheers
Drew

I thought I saw something on that recently…3SX maybe?

Do NOT buy headlights from usa, they are only for LHD drive cars, the light pattern is wrong for RHD cars

If u have sealed beam lights change them to non sealed and get led bulbs, just make sure they’re legal

I too would be interested in changing headlight bulbs to LED for my RHD car, I have already completed Joe’s LED modification for the Snake eyes, and would like to complete the look with LED.

There is a post on here somewhere with a link to a German company who do a replacement Headlamp for Mk1’s.
I tried an aftermarket Led bulb a couple of years ago in a Honda car but couldn’t get them alignment right so I concluded that Leds will not work correctly in a standard fitting. Be happy for someone to correct me on this.
Enda.

I was watching something on You tube the other day and I think it was a Mazda 5 and the actual headlights looked the same as those off a GTO

Hi Angela, would u like a owner’s manual, i’ve got a spare one

Hey thanks but I have one - I printed out all 1300 pages of the thing. It’s like my bible. I’m currently trying to remove the crank shaft sprocket to change the oil pump. Nothing in the manual about removing it. I should start a new thread as I’ve hijacked this one lol

U are going to need a small gear puller to do that, and I meant the owner’s manual, the one u get with the car when it’s new, u do all the work on your car your self ?

If your a member of the GTO Performance club here u should have gotten a CD when u joined, and there will be a thread on the site that will cover that oil pump replacement, or just look it up on YT

just to make people aware that led bulbs the head lights are no longer legal in the uk they are an instant fail for a mot. and its been know for police forces to impound your car till you can put in normal bulbs

How on earth do they then deal with all the new cars that are coming out with led lights??

Because the head light lenses have been designed to give the correct beam pattern

I’m going to take a guess and say that a headlamp that is designed for a halogen bulb will not behave correctly(from an alignment point of view)with an Led bulb fitted.

Correct Halegon head lights do not the the projector leneses in them, even older cars with projector headlamps cannot use hid/ led bulbs , plus you have to have adaptive head lights to use led bulbs

I put LEDs in my Silvia for the rear lights and brake lights and they dont work at all. Must be a voltage thing. the blinkers go ‘dinger dinger dinger’ really fast and there are no brake lights. Back to the old bulbs for me.

I recently got Novsight H4 hi low for mine they work great not sure if they’re mot passable but there is a visible beam kick

They certainly do look bright, but as you said, not sure if they’ll pass an MOT. the best way forward I would imagine would be to put a set in and bring them to a pre-test centre and have a professional mechanic check the directional beams. Where did you pick them up ?
Oh and nice setup mate, loads of space to work there. :+1:

I’ll try and remember to get a pic of the beam pattern when I get back to the shed, don’t think I’ll be able to fit my beam tester in front but you’ll get an idea of the pattern
