LED replacement and reverse polarity

I’m currently swapping out all my bulbs for LED and I’m finding out on my car (91 GTO) the front indicators and reverse seem to be reverse polarity is this common? After swapping the pins it seems fine. My next question is there a replacement relay that takes into account the lack of resistance from the LED’s so they don’t flash so quickly or will I need to solder in some kind of resistor? Thanks in advance

First gens will need resistors. 2nd gens have a flasher relay you could swap that would prevent hyperflash, but the plug is completely different on a 1g.
