Interior and signal lights switching on and off randomly

Hello all my name is: David
I have a: 94 STEALTH RT N/A
It has the following issue: when I start up my car and turn on my lights something usual happens. My dash lights, signal lights, and taillights will shut off but my headlights will remain on. After a couple of minutes they come back on, but then will shut off again. Because of this I’m not able to drive at night since my tail lights along with my dashboard can turn off all of a sudden. I don’t know where to start looking for the problem. I’m having issues with the stereos audio coming on as well. It turns on but no sound will come out. It plays audio randomly as well. Don’t know if it’s all connected. Really need help to get my ride road safe.

NO HELP WILL BE GIVEN WITHOUT PROVIDING AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE RELATING TO YOUR ISSUE

Have you done any modifications to the electrical system?
If not, start by checking that all of the negative connections are good, clean and tight.
Start with main battery which is becoming a common problem. Then there is a connection between battery and bodywork and battery to engine. Finally, there is a earth strap between engine and chassis. If all of these are good, get back to us.

I have not done any electrical modifications to the vehicle. I bought it like this but didn’t notice the issue till later on. I’ve only checked all the fuses inside and out. It’s like switching on the lights and switching them back off. I read that it might have something to do with the dash light dimmer being faulty. I’m just speculating here though.

Update : I took my car to a shop and had them take a look at it. Turns out the issue was the tail light relay. I switched it out and problem fixed.

Relay only cost me $15 at AutoZone

We get all kind of strange faults on our cars as they age, so it is good to have an information bank of more strange faults

I’m starting to notice that. I just bought my stealth in Aug and been working on it since day one. I finally got it to specs to be able to drive yesterday. It’s been a long couple of months lol. But now I can focus on restoration and performance parts. My oem radio wasn’t working either. But after fixing the light issue I unplugged the stereo, plugged it back in and viola it started working again.

Yes sir, I had the same issue with my fog lights for over ten years. Changed the relay and no issue no longer. I also had my headlights go out doing 70mph on the highway and only my parking lights would work. After about a minute they came back on and I was able to make it from North Carolina back home to Maryland without it happening again. It did happen a few weeks later while on trip from local store and the next day I changed to relay and BINGO again no issues since.
