I have a: 91 Stealth TT
It has the following issue:
See a couple drops of oil under the transfer case but it’s not transfer case oil. Any ideas where it can be coming from before I start taking things apart?
I’m thinking might be rear valve cover gasket. Any other ideas?
Might be the oil return pipe that goes from the rear turbo to the oil pan. I have exactly the same issue, and after digging up information, I think it’s gonna be that pipe. I would suggest getting an endoscope with a light and check that off.
Same here on my '93 VR4. I haven’t paid much attention other than wipe it off with each oil change. Certainly doesn’t have much affect on oil or tranny levels or performance. Interesting what gbb14 said - I think I’ll take a peak at the rear turbo oil pipe. It seems to me there was a connecting seal or two in that zone?
Just to add I had a hidden oil leak that ended up being there and of course, it wasn’t the easier end at the oil pan.

I saw somewhere you can buy 5 of those gaskets, so you can change all of them and don’t think about it for 10-20 years
i bought a pack of 4 some years ago and used them up now
