I had trouble with my window yesterday

I was out ordering parts for my Ford f250 yesterday when i heard the sound of something shattering and my driver side window dropped down in its channel. Believing my regulator broke, i decided to press the button to verify it wasn’t going i work. Sure enough, i heard the wire unspooling. Luckily, i had the forsite to oreder replacement regulators a few years ago just incase something like this happens.

Here’s what i did to replace it:

  1. Remove door panel.

  2. Unbolt window from regulator and remove bolts securing regulator to door. I used a screw driver to support the glass while i unbolted the glass, then i lowered it down and removed the regulator.

Removed clip securing wire harness to make unplugging the motor easier.

Disconnected the motor.

Then slid the regulator out of the access hole.

Turns out the the plastic guide tube is what broke.
Installing was just as simple.

Slide motor in first

Then top of regulator chanel

Then the bottom

Then bolt everything up

And before attaching the door panel back on, tighten up all the parts that keep the window aligned. How this helps anyone having trouble with their regulators.
