hey, I know it sounds like an obvious question but when I add 4.5 quarts like the owners manual says it reads well above the full mark on the dipstick and blows a white cloud out the tailpipe after sitting at stop for like a stoplight or train. First I thought the guy who sold me the car put the wrong dipstick in it but I got a new one off ebay and it reads the same. Is there a special way to drain more oil during oil change. Right now I just remove filter and drain it out the plug until its dripping. I feel like the car is happier right at the top of the full range which is only 4 quarts. Am I crazy or missing something obvious.
4.5 qts is correct.
The smoke on take off after idling is due to bad/leaking valve seals.

Thank you, Im sure your right about the valve seals. Im still a little confused why 4.5 quarts reads 1/8 inch over the top of the full area on the dip-stick. But that is not the real issue like you say the engine is worn.
It’s possible you have the wrong dip stick.
