So what’s everyone doing on their GTO this evening? I’m prepping to paint the spoiler parts
I wish I had that much workspace to work on my car
its a blessing and a curse
Nice workspace you have there. I’m not working on the car this evening but was earlier in the day. I removed one of the headlights which took WAY longer than it should’ve. Its a Mk2 with the projector style headlights. The 3 bolts accessed from the engine bay came out in seconds, no problem. But the 4th and final bolt, hidden behind the side repeater, didn’t want to come out. The bolt screws into a metal circular female part with a knurled OD that is either press fit of glued into the side plastic of the headlight. Unfortunately the bolt and knurled part were fused together and it lost its grip on the plastic housing and was just spinning. Had the cut the head off the bolt with a dremel in the end. Now I have the headlight out and the shank of the bolt still stuck in the knurled part loose on my workbench. I was hoping to separate the two and epoxy the knurled part back into the side of the headlight, but I can’t remove the bolt for love nor money. Tried using a couple of pairs on vice grips and just ended up snapping the bolt shank further down… I think I’m going to have to resort to sticking a standard nut into the headlight instead. Hope you’re having better luck than I am!
oh no gutted sounds like the worst time, a small job can escalate so quickly with one small mishap, keep us posted
This evening i’ve ordered some capacitors after inspecing my ECU and finding them all popped. Should be a fun job lol.
Wow sounds a bit advanced for me but good luck
You know what that’s exactly what I was thinking better than half on curb and slide under lol
