Fuel Hardline Size

Does anyone know what diameter the fuel pipes that run under the length of our cars are? They look to be about 3/8" or 5/16" (or a similar metric size) but mine are quite corroded and I don’t think I can get a reliable external measurement.

I need to replace them and would prefer to stay with OEM style pipe rather than convert to braided hose. Thanks

The best I can measure is 8.3mm. Once you allow for the lacquer coating, I guess it will come out about 8mm. The original steel line is available in 8mm and is available in suitable lengths. If you buy the correct tool for bending the pipe, you will be able to get perfect reproduction of the original line. The tube is about £25 a length but that’s a fraction of aftermarket lines and worth every penny in my books.

Thanks Joe, that’s very good of you. I thought it looked to be about 5/16" (7.95mm), so that tallies nicely.

If it’s the same size as the one that connects to the fuel pump housing, then it’s 8mm.
