ECS Fault Diagnosis

Hello, folks. Darcy here. My 94 3000GT VR4 Spyder has the infamous flashing sport/tour light, indicating a fault in the ECS system. A test reveals the error is with both the L and R rear struts. The struts were firm and not leaking, but I replaced them nonetheless (with good used ones from 3SX). During the replacement I inspected the wiring leads and plugs to the dampers and they were in excellent condition. Lacking knowledge of how to test the leads for continuity, I did not do that. And, as the error codes indicate both struts, it seems unlikely to be the damper connections. But the flashing light persisted. I have just pulled the ECS controller and visually inspected it. All the thingys on the circuit board look good and are firmly attached. No seeping and no scorching. I will have a techie replace the capacitors regardless. What else can I do to isolate the source of the error?
