Driver door lock /immobiliser short

Hello all . My blue one the 1993 TT manual has suddenly developed a fault… The drivers side lock continuously open and shuts the mechanism when you unlock vehicle. the only way to stop it is to manually lock it using internal lock handle/bar, or if outside lock with key. Immobiliser lets you start engine then but also starts the short again and needs manually locking door.
No problems with passenger side or when engine is running.
Are there individual relays in the doors or anyone else had similar.
The grandkids say it’s embarrassing but if it’s nothing simple the red one just passed the mot so will park up and they will have to have “the noiseyone” lol

NO HELP WILL BE GIVEN WITHOUT PROVIDING AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE RELATING TO YOUR ISSUE

Sounds like problem and 3si to rescue . Thank you, will tax the red one and then strip it out. Put a new regulator in about 6 months ago so will make sure nothing else is loose and causing probs.

Thank you for taking time to help.

I did a video for this problem a couple of years ago.

Thanks Joe , good to hear from you will dig it out (Can you remember title, if not will enjoy going through list).
This is blue 10/93 GTO with the moon roof (with broken external rubber surround) you have supplied loads of bits for both and without your videos the thousands spent would probably have doubled. In fact my garage guy did timing belt etc after watching your video and agreed its a great way to find those hidden nuts and bolts.

Look after yourself.

Just watched video . Typical Joe and absolutely superb so will get rubber and cleaner and glue and wait for sunny day .

Ebay rubber sheet 3mm £1.50 cut to Joe’s sizes. Contact glue £1.99 a steaming hot day and having watched joe’s video again last night.
So easy to cure.
Problems : the 2 screws holding actuator box were loctited so Phillips rounded off and small pair of molegrips used on screw head to break the seal on threads. Two opposite box corners well glued so tapped stanley blade into joints especially the 2 corners.
Inside was bit obvious one side well flattened and other side half missing.

Took 2 hours and have kept everything ready for other side .

THANK YOU JOE
