When the car door is locked and someone pulls the handle from the inside it does something to the mechanism whereby when its unlocked you cant disengage the latch to open the door on either side (if that makes sense?). In order to get it working again I have to push one of the latches (as per screenshot) to get it to re-engage… What is the problem & how easy of a fix is it & to get the mechanism out?
I’ve had this before. I just had to take the bolts out and re-align it a little to fix it. Joe does a good video on the door locks with some disassembly for the whole mechanism.
for anyone with the same problem in the future who may stumble across this thread I have figured out the issue…
The spring here on mine was missing which prevented it cycling back when the door was unlocked! Hope this helps!
