Hey, AngelaS, I have tried a vent repair solution which didn’t require removing the dash. It’s called black Plastic Epoxy (my dash is charcoal but it’s a close enough match). I roughed up the surface with some sandpaper to provide better adhesion (more surface area) for the epoxy. Used some shims to force the vent back down into position and applied the epoxy and let it cure.
The epoxy’s finish was shinier than the rest of the vent & dash, so I covered with “custom-cut” patches of adhesive-backed leatherette upholstery repair material.
It’s a beyotch to work in that cramped space, but to me it was worth the sweat.

Thanks for that. I’ll look out for the epoxy next time I’m out shopping. And I dont shop handbags and shoes!! Seems I work to buy car parts!
