anyone have any experience with bringing the ac unit into a local electrical repair shop?
im considering it, as being in new zealand shipping is pretty expensive ontop of the repair costs.

I have seen some that have high quality repairs although the fault wasn’t fixed but I have also seen some that were totally destroyed by bad attempts at repairs. You never know what you are going to get unless you trust the experience and quality of engineer that is doing the work.

I know this isn’t a lot of help as it isn’t in New Zealand; however, I had my A/C display and computer (the module that is behind it and the radio) repaired by Blackstealth on 3Si. He’s in Canada but it was worth the expense of having the repair done for me. So, if you’re unable to find someone near you in New Zealand or even nearby in Australia, I’d look him up as your next best option.

okay ill take it in to repair shop in the next few days and ill have a good chat with the people at the shop and see how i feel.
there’s lots of videos online of people fixing them so hopefully things go alright
