AC green light flashing. No cooling

Hello all my name is George:
I have a 1994 3000GT SL
It has the following issue: My AC starts and most of the days works fine, but all of a sudden and randomly the Green light starts flashing on the ac button and the cool air stops. If l shut off the AC and turn it back on it works for a bit and then stops cooling with the green light flashing again.

Any ideas please.?

Have checked the belt deflection which seems fine . (the car has 46000 miles and is with the same belt)

The problem was that the 13mm nut which holds the clutch to the compressor was missing!!
