A sorry to members outside the UK

As you are all aware, I have a section on the forum called Joes Gems. This section is for me to advertise obsolete, rare or special offer parts that I get hold of. Some of these items will be wanted by all and other parts may not seem like such a good offer to those of you outside the UK.
We get ripped off for parts in the UK and so I often buy in bulk to get the parts cheaper for forum members. Those of you that are in other countries, especially the States, may already be able to buy for the same price that I am selling for. Even if I am cheaper, the cost of shipping makes the price prohibitive for most outside the UK. I am now sourcing in larger and larger quantities so I hope to make the offers better for all. I am also sourcing more and more rare and obsolete parts. Some of these parts are very exciting because I didn’t believe that I would ever find the original manufacturers.
It is taking time for parts to be delivered due to the virus (or at least that’s their excuse) but they will arrive soon so please be patient. I am also going to start listing parts that I can now get hold of if there is enough demand. If enough people want the parts, I will finance the production.
At this moment, I have 5 obsolete parts and 4,000 other parts in production which will be available over the coming months so please bare with me.
Could I also ask you to let me know if there are any items that are in demand but no longer available. I will do my best to get them for you but there must be a reasonable demand.
Thank you for your support and for being a valued part of the forum.

As an international buyer I want to thank you for the effort to obtain these obsolete parts for all of us, for getting the best possible price and for sending to us. I have been able to fix or improve my car with them.
Is there a list of demanded items? For joining in the production of interesting parts, with other people.
Thanks Joe for your dedication

I don’t have a list at the moment but if you tell me what you need by private message, I will add it to the joes gems section for others to comment on. As soon as there is enough people to cover 25% of the production costs, I will cover the other 75%.

I can just say for myself that the only option I have is to either buy those possible parts from you Joe or I have to order from the states which costs ALOT… There is not really anywhere else I have found that deliveres parts here to the islands and who is reliable.

I need a new moon roof, any chance these can be made Joe?

WoW. Thats a big ask. I have never even seen one. Are they obsolete? How many people in the world do you think would want one?
Now the question is out there, we can wait for the response to see if it is viable. I do see the odd second hand one pop up. It may be worth putting it on the items wanted section.

A moon roof just popped up on the items for sale section.

Hi Joe, there are a lot of pieces I want to change. In general my car runs ok (except 2nd gear major problem) but I want to renew a lot of pieces (some from engine part and others from body, wheels and so). Well, If my economy allows me, I will ask you for some things or I will take advantage of your great gems.
Thank you

I will do my best to get everything that you need but my budget is only £10,000 per month and when you buy in bulk, that doesn’t go very far. Also, delivery times are presently 1 to 2 months so we have to be patient. Thank you for your continued support.

Hi Joe. Wow, looks like a full scale operation you’ve got going on in there! 4000 parts in production, 10k/m budget, just awesome! Will there be an online shop opening soon?

With regards to the parts of interest, just as a general idea, coming from my own experience and frustration with my current restauration, all part that are known to rot away basically. Such as various body panels fixing brackets (for bumpers etc), I am sure you know them all  . And mostly (for me anyways) - if only there have been kits for like correct bolts (those with integrated washers), just cant stand the ugly look when using some generic stuff; and this pain in the back - fixing clips that inevitably do break, finding anything generic that would fit is not easy, so if only there was a kit of a bit of most common types used in the cars, would snatch that it in a hartbeat.

Just my thoughts…

Agian, thanks for what you’re doing for us!

Hi Vince
This is only a hobby for me so there is no plans for a shop. I only bother with the bits that others can’t get.
I am with you on the aftermarket bolts looking crap. I wouldn’t use anything but the correct bolts on my car.
The nuts, bolts and fixings issue is in hand but you have to appreciate that it takes time to put a kit together given that there is nearly 100 different fixings. The bolts are very expensive so you wouldn’t want to buy a kit when you only need a few. Don’t forget that Mitsubishi still sell most of the bolts as they use them on other cars.
Some of the fixing brackets are still available from Mitsubishi so I won’t bother with those right now. I do have some others in production but the virus has slowed everything up. Keep an eye on the forum and see what turns up.
I appreciate your thoughts and feedback.

@Joe90 Many of the decals/badges are now discontinued and near impossible to find (such as the “3000GT” and “VR4” decals on the rear bumper of 1G 3000GTs). Is that something you’ve looked into reproducing?

The only available reproduction decals I can find online are simple flat vinyl decals, rather than the 3D raised style of the OEM badges.

I can get these done but I thought that someone on 3si had them. If everyone can confirm that they are no longer available, I will get them. I don’t want to take business from anyone else because this is just a hobby for me.

If anyone knows where to get an OEM or replica “3000GT VR4” decal, please share!

Hello,
Last year I ordered that decal from my local dealer with no problem, received it the day after and paid something around 150eur…

Did you mean to say 150 Euro or was that a typing error?
I have bought whole cars for that.
How does Mitsubishi get away with these criminal prices.

Hello Joe,
I’m afraid it’s not a typing error, I can’t find the exact amount in my invoices, but I know the dealer was also ashamed for the price, it was about 114eur + VAT (21%) so something like 138eur…
A lot of money but the car needs it…
An cheaper alternative would be great for next time…

I think it is possible to make a 3D replica with original relief (3D print, sanding paper, paint to desired color and adding back adhesive). I need 3000GT VR4 decal too. I will ask to my friends, they have 3D printers.
