3000GT coolant warning light

Hello, my name is Raphaël.
I own a 93’ Mitsubishi 3000GT SL Non turbo and yesterday I tried to start it up but she wouldn’t go past 500rpm.
I have the « low coolant warning light » that came up on the dashboard but the level is ok.
I don’t know if these two reasons are related.
Is there a security about this warning light that doesn’t allow the engine to run correctly ?
It was running all right a few days ago but suddenly this happened.

I’d be thankful for an answer, thanks a lot.

That’s an interesting problem. Not heard of that before nor do I have any ideas as to the cause. Please let the group know if you find the cause.

Thanks joe, will do if I find the issue!

The two would not be related, unless low coolant caused some additional failure in the engine.

okay thanks a lot. I was thinking maybe I have a problem with my ignition coil since the sparks plugs were changed it may be something like that.
But even then the car should accelerate and exceed 500rpm no?
Cause when I do it just stall

Forget coils and plugs but these are easy to check anyway without buying new ones. Have you checked your fuel pressure. Could be the pump failing.

Just checked the plugs and the three ones in front of you when you pop the hood are greasy, even the pistons are covered of oil, will try to clean these up to see if it start.
The other three are fine.
May be the cylinder head gasket?

Hello everyone, here some news:

I’ve tested the compression of the cylinder wich is good (145psi), also the coil and plugs are working and the fuel is coming to the motor.

She’s trying to start but it feels like something is keeping it not to.
I still have the low coolant level warning light so I was thinking of a captor.

Let me know if you have an idea.
Thanks, Raphaël

Have you tested the coolant level sensor?
