Definitely will appreciate the help I think I did have a washer that I couldn’t find when installing the manifold back on, I’m thinking it may have fell inside once I removed it I probably just didn’t realize it
I think that the washer may have gone into the intake manifold and is stopping a valve from closing. This would explain the noise and the sooty spark plugs. This would be easy to diagnose and fix.
Yea im started to think that also, so it pretty much is just fishing it out of the manifold with a magnet if I do find that it’s in the manifold ?
If that’s the case does that mean I won’t have to replace any engine parts like piston or valve ?
You may get lucky but remember that this is only a guess and that is all you can get on a forum.
You may get lucky and it could be stuck where the valve is, but in may case the valve snapped that washer in half and both parts went into a cylinder… Just keep that in mind. If that is the case you will most likely also have a bent valve.
o ok thx , do I need to remove the lower intake manifold to find out? also would that cause my spark plugs to look burnt I installed 2 sets of spark plugs they look burnt after cranking it up for the first time
I’m not sure what you mean by lower intake manifold…
As for spark plugs looking burned there could be several reasons.
- Incorrect Air/Fuel mixture.
- Oil is getting into the combustion chaimber.
My suggestion is you fix the starting problem and then see how the car behaves and what to do next.
