Hello and good evening. I have a 94 3KGT SL and I’m looking for some help and guidance. I am wanting to pull my subframe out of the front for restoration, and purchased an engine support bar. Seems to be a very useful tool.
However, I can’t find a rear hoist location to attach to. Does anyone have any advice? Can I support just the rear, or do I need two bars to get both front and back?
There should be a support on the front on the LHS (from the front) and two on the rear. Here’s a shot I found on U choob
So it looks like I’ll have to take the plenum off?
With the design of the drivers and passenger side mounts you really don’t need a support bar. Those two mounts do most of the support anyway. The front and rear mounts are just roll stops that the engine basically floats in.
I’ve been thinking that. The two side mounts would still be there. If I support the back or the front, that would be like still having three of the four mounts attached.
